Codman Academy, an EL Mentor School, returns strong results on MCAS

The results of the 2011 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests are in, and Codman Academy made some extraordinary gains. The Student Growth Percentile (SGP) aspect of the MCAS scores measures how much difference it makes that a student attended a particular school, and whether a school "adds value" regardless of where the student is academically upon arrival by lottery.

Winnona Park Elementary receives highest award for test score gains three years in a row.

 

Winnona Park Elementary School Awarded Platinum Award for the Greatest Gains in CRCT Scores

The Georgia Department of Education and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement recognized Winnona Park Elementary School as being one of 46 Georgia schools whose students made the most gains on their CRCT scores from the 2008-2009 school year to the 2009-2010 school year.

Three EL Schools are named Colorado Centers of Excellence

Tollgate Elementary, Virginia Court Elementary, and Yale Elementary were among 32 schools honored by the state of Colorado as a "Center of Excellence." The award is based on rates of student longintudinal growth in schools that have at least 75% students who are measures as "at-risk."

This is the second year in a row that Tollgate and Yale have won the award.

USD 204 earns A-plus on AYP report card

Out of the state’s 293 districts, 211 made district-wide adequate yearly progress this year, according to results released last week by the Kansas State Department of Education.

One of those districts was USD 204 Bonner Springs-Edwardsville, with 84.8 percent of total students in the district meeting standards or above in reading and 81.9 percent meeting standards or above in math.
