The Hewlett Foundation gives EL the "featured website" nod.

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation put this announcement up on their website today:

"With a recent grant from the Hewlett Foundation, Expeditionary Learning will partner with Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education to create a “digital museum” showcasing what teachers can nurture and what students can accomplish using this deeper learning approach."

Fund For Teachers alum Dan Anderson and his students at the Christa McAuliffe Regional Charter Public School prepare for a 20th anniversary commemoration of Christa McAuliffe.

FRAMINGHAM — On Jan. 28, the nation will stop and remember Christa McAuliffe, the New Hampshire teacher who lost her life along with six other astronauts when the space shuttle Challenger exploded 25 years ago.

Expeditionary Learning is showcased in Taos by the Vista Grande school

Vista Grande High School shed some light on the concept of “expeditionary learning” by hosting a “mini-expedition” Nov. 18. More than a dozen attendees — mainly students and teachers — gathered at the Juan I. Gonzales Agricultural Center to experience what expeditionary learning is all about.

Portland Schools Superintendent James Morse singles out King and Casco Bay as models.

Leading educators are using King Middle School and Casco Bay High School as models for schools throughout the country.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan visited King two weeks ago to see how an urban school achieves success. The stars of the show were King teachers, who brought home to a round-table discussion real practices that impressed Duncan and the many state and regional dignitaries present.
