Second graders at Delaware Academy in Syracuse did more than just learn about how grocery stores and local merchants work. They created their own products (chocolate lollipops, greeting cards, and a spice rub) and sold those products to raise nearly eight-hundred dollars.
Then, looking around their community for those in need, the students of Delaware Academy donated all that money to a local pantry called "Bread of Life." In additon, the students walked from their school on Wednesdays to hand out fruit at the pantry during lunch hours.
